ANNUAL(?!) Check-In: Back to Work

                         MageSpell

BLOWS THE DUST OFF THIS CARTRIDGE.

Can I even get the game to play? It has been an empty year for my personal projects as I got experience working in Web Design and Digital Advertising this last year.  Leveled up QUITE a bit, and hope to apply what I have up in my noodle by finally building this gamebaby. I am home full time with my awesome kids to be Mom again, and although I am still down about missing work at what is probably the best place ever, jumping back into raising these Subhumans has been THE BEST DECISION EVER.  I don't think I can go back. So, instead, LET'S PUSH FORWARD!  Mage Metal Meat is back on.  For real? Maybe. I don't know. It might not be a thing. We will see. It feels like a thing. It's a thing. Either way, I'm trying. Basically, I have loved Itch and want to contribute my time by adding quality content here, and my little RPS is a good way to jump-start that.

CREATIVE

I still like my art here; I am going to stick with it, but I am going to need to flesh out how it feels in general,  give it some style and fidelity variations, and make some workflow choices (Like, oddly, wanting to AVOID Tilesets).  Looking first at locking down a working palette that fits for me. I want to have the art choices be meaningful. Super excited about my notes on this and ready to try some things.  I AM nervous because I haven't touched game art for myself this whole year.

DESIGN

I have some fun stuff to write down: story play narrative choices I've made, references to RPS moments in culture/influences I want to include, a specific arcade game mode that gets me excited to try. Beyond that, I have a load of notes and my outline to dump into it a GDD.

DEVELOPMENT

I don't actually know how to program/code/develop. So I will prototype the heck out of this and then either seek out a partner or bust out some books and internets. C2 has helped in the past and I still have it hiding somewhere, so let's see if we can get the bones built.

It's just a good feeling to open this up and see it's still here and I get to finally give this a try. Let's go.
